The LVMH (Louis Vuiton, Moet, Hennessy) Group recently shed some light on Hood By Air designer Shayne Oliver. The group has nominated Oliver as one of its finalists for the first ever LVMH Young Fashion Designers award. Within the brief visual, Oliver shows off one of his staple pieces of the season—a zipper-laden, nubuck suede jacket—and talks about his journey from being an Fashion Institute of Technology dropout to starting Hood By Air.

"I just kinda felt like I didn't fit in, in a way," he explained during the two-minute spotlight. "What I'm trying to do wasn't based on manual technique, it's sort of a conceptual brand, in a way."
