Not long after the closing of Pearl Paint on Canal Street, New Yorkers are learning that another important and iconic spot for artists is also closing its doors. The Kidrobot store on Prince Street (KRNY) that opened over a decade ago will close shop at the end of April.
In a letter to the Kidrobot community posted on the company's blog yesterday, they announced that "continuing to operate the current store at its present size and location is just no longer feasible." The letter goes on to thank all of the artists and collectors from around the world who made the store what it was: a "global destination for Kidrobot fans worldwide, and a tremendous asset to our brand."
The company says that they are currently scouting a new location in New York City and (at the time of this post) are offering 50% off of everything in the Prince Street store.
