Watch As the Hubble Telescope Zooms In to a Beautiful Scene of a Galaxy Destroying Itself

The definition of spell-binding.

Even the most terrible things look awesome in space (see Sandra Bullock in Gravity). The Hubble Telescope took a photo recently that revealed a galaxy far far away (approximately 200 million light years), tearing itself apart. The description for the video below says that the spiral galaxy shown is called ESO 137-001, and it's traveling at high speeds through hot intergalactic gas which is doing major damage to its own gases. That sounds awful, but watching the focus zoom slowly through into the high-res image is mesmerizing. R.I.P that galaxy, though.
