To say that fútbol (soccer) is a big deal to most homosapiens on this planet would be a pretty big understatement. The world's most popular sport could more accurately be called a religion with over 250 million pastors and millions upon million more in their congregations. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is hosting an important exhibition entitled "Fútbol: The Beautiful Game" which takes a look at soccer and the various ways that it has affected the people of the world.

The exhibition will feature the photographic, video, sculptural, and painted works of over 30 artists including Andy WarholKehinde WileyRobin RhodeMiguel CalderonStephen DeanPhilippe Parreno, Mark Bradford,Mary Ellen Carroll, Hassan Hajjaj, Petra CortrightAndreas Gursky, and Douglas Gordon. Opening on February 2, "Fútbol: The Beautiful Game" will run through the season and into summer when the world's primary focus will be the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. For more information about the exhibition, visit LACMA's exhibition page here.
