An up-and-coming New York-based artistSam Meyerson has been exploring some bona fide New York themes in his latest drawings. He has done some really awesome subway sketches that capture, among other things, the somewhat lackluster state of humanity. One image features two women completely absorbed in their phones; another depicts an exhausted looking woman taking a cat nap against a sign that reads “you work all day.” The prints cause the viewer to take a step back consider the big picture. Is this how we want to spend our lives?

Several of Meyerson’s pieces were on display at Joshua Liner Gallery during November 2013.
