On November 16, the Northwestern Wildcats will take the field with purpose beyond defeating the University of Michigan Wolverines—honoring wounded American serviceman.

The school's uniforms, produced by Under Armour, will feature a special stars and stripes design on the day. The Baltmore-based brand has added a further nod to the Wounder Warrior Project, replacing player names with core value call-outs. Duty, honor, courage, commitment, integrity, country, and service will all feature above numbers, which are white outlined with red. The intent is to raise awareness for the charity and encourage Wildcat fans to give to the non-profit. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off in benefit of the WWP.

With a mission of honoring and empowering injured service members, the Wounded Warrior Project assists in the creation of unique, direct programs for injured soldiers. This is the fifth year Under Armour has created custom uniforms to aid of WWP. While the stars and stripes accents on this year's kit mirror that of Hawaii and Boston College last season, the new bolder helmet is an advance of the Freedom design.
