Jose Parla has recently been involved in a number of commissioned murals, including the 70-by-10-foot mural at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn. His newest piece, which is smaller but just as spectacular, is located in the James B. Hunt Library at North Carolina State University, decorating the side of a row of book stacks. The mural features the artist's signature calligraphic strokes in white on a hazy red backdrop. The piece, titled "Nature of Language" was conceived of over five years ago and is now finally realized.
