Circumnavigating censorship and posting cat pics.

Ai Weiwei (and his cats) sat down with ArtINFO recently to discuss how he uses micro-blogging platforms like Twitter and Instagram on a daily basis. In the interview, Weiwei discusses his forced trasition into the sites when his popular blog was shut down in 2009. He now considers tweeting as a part of his "artistic practice" and posts several times a day about any and everything. His IG profile is filled with random snapshots of his cats, friends, art, and other things that inspire or interest him in the moment.

The interview is short but provides an interesting look into the mind of the artist. Weiwei shares philosophies on life, suggests that selfies aid in self-awareness, and ponders the motives of his favorite four-legged friends. Check out the interview in full over at ArtINFO.
