Performing is in Bridget Kelly's DNA. Born and raised in New York City, she attended the prestigious LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts (a.k.a. the school made famous in Fame), and spent any free time she had hustling gigs at open mics, downtown clubs, and even on the platforms of the city's subways. In 2008, her big break came when she was signed to Jay-Z's RocNation label. Since then, she has toured and performed with a number of incredibly high profile artists, including Mr. Carter himself.
Last August, Bridget's debut single, “Special Delivery,” took the world by storm, hypnotizing listeners with its vocal power and emotional vulnerability. And things kept moving upward from there. In February, Bridget won her first Grammy as a songwriter for contributing the song "Einstein" to Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger LP, which won Best Pop Vocal Album. But no matter how many accolades she gets or magazine covers she graces, Bridget, who is currently working on her own debut full-length album, prefers to remain humble and patient. As she herself puts it on her official site: "I hope to touch someone's life through my writing or my voice, even if it's just one person."
Bridget's next venture is teaming up with Courvoisier® to perform at their Courvoisiology Lab event this June. The Lab is a multi-sensory experience that redefines how cognac should be enjoyed, and the incredible evening will be capped off with a live performance by Bridget herself. It will be hosted in Chicago, and more details are forthcoming, so be sure to check back soon.
