There seems to be an increase in jewelry heists lately, but the most recent one takes the cake of all jewelry heists ever. Belgium authorities are reporting that a gang of well-armed thieves robbed a Brinks truck, and made off with $50 million dollars worth of uncut diamonds. The thieves, disguised as police officers and armed with machine guns complete with laser sights, robbed the security truck, as it was about to load its precious cargo on a Swiss passenger jet. The robbery was so well-planned and executed that it only took three minutes, and the robbers got off scot-free. These are the kind of robberies you only see in movies, and this one is said to be one of the, if not, biggest heists in recent memory. Kind of reminds us of the Lufthansa Heist from Goodfellas.
