Frank Gehry is one of the most beloved and celebrated architects today, with enough collaborations and awards to affirm his legacy for decades to come. His most recently announced project is a series of Fish Lamps showing at both Gagosian Beverly Hills and Gagosian Paris.
The Fish Lamps series came from a 1983 commission by the Formica Corporation to create objects from their plastic laminate, ColorCore. He accidentally shattered a piece of it and discovered the result looked like fish scales. These photos are of the lamps as works-in-progress.
Visit the exhibition at Gagosian Beverly Hills from January 11 to February 14, 2013 and Gagosian Paris from January 24 to March 9, 2013.
