Ai Weiwei Goes "Gangnam Style" (Video)

We can't believe it either.

Ai Weiwei is known for being provocative in his art by responding to contemporary culture in both serious and comical ways. His latest effort is ridiculously entertaining; it's a parody of Psy's super-viral song and video for "Gangnam Style," and Psy himself is in it. Apparently, Psy stopped by Ai's studio in Beijing to teach him how to do it right. He tweeted the video earlier today, and it's every bit hilarious and profound, as Ai tends to be.

There's no doubt that he's responding to Psy's social critique of the Gangnam province (a wealthy neighborhood in the South Korean city of Seoul where young people go to party), and also celebrating the Western reception of the video. In any case, have a laugh. This is a moment that will go down in art history forever.
