Born and raised in South London, Mark Ward's television regularly transported him to a land of opportunity, the day-glo washed scenes of Southern California. Throughout his artistic career, Ward has balanced the American obsession of his youth with the drab reality of adulthood. His latest exhibition, which closes this weekend at Beach Gallery, uses new sculpture and drawing to create a "Far Out" world inspired by the snippets of Americana he witnessed in short burst as a child.
