Raw emotions drive White Dreams, a forthcoming exhibition from Honolulu-based artist Kamea Hadar. The son of an Israeli father and a Japanese/Korean mother, Hadar grew up in Hawaii and studied art in Paris and Madrid. His breadth of experience plays out in his painting, mixing traditions with a fresh balance and reverence for technique.

On July 20, Loft In Space will play host to Hadar's newest works. Themes of sex, love, death, and the human condition are abundant. Hadar's painted body parts removed from context and surrounded by negative space. They produced immediate reactions, and ultimately also serve to highlight the young artist's finely honed brush strokes. He's a realist painter of great imagination. And, he's certainly one to watch.

White Dreams will run through August 19, 2012
