No doubt about it, we like Aaron De La Cruz. Last year, the Bay Area-based painter impressed us enough to make our 25 Most Important Artists of 2011 list. He's kept our attention thus far in 2012, especially with his work at Pow Wow in Honolulu.
De La Cruz opens his second solo exhibition in Los Angeles this weekend at Known Gallery. Some Thing Else finds him employing his signature crisp lines on a diverse and multifaceted set of objects. Sculpture too plays a vital roll, proving De La Cruz's skill in several mediums. In addition to the art, the exhibition will provide a launching pad for the artist's new line of accessories and custom crafted jewelry.
Some Thing Else runs June 16 to July 7, 2012.
