Could there be a more perfect forum to experience public art + design than the High Line? Gorgeous views of the Hudson, refreshing urban gardens, streams of water and the bustling NYC backdrop makes for one of our favorite locations in NYC. Originally built in the 1920s, as a freight train line which ran along the West Side of lower Manhattan, The High Line was once an integral part of 10th avenue and its restoration and transformation is one of of the city's greatest cultural contributions in decades.

The city plans on adding an estimated $90 million extension to the High Line and aims to have the park completed by 2014. Hit the thumbs for a first hand look at the High Line's upcoming extension design plans. [FastCodeDesign]
