Malin Isaksson, still a design student, is an accomplished gilder and framemaker. His talents were on display at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, where two objects (Gilded Butterflies and He Who Laughs Last, Laughs The Longest) impressed the editors of Design Milk. Using what he calls "living craft", Isaksson applies traditional technique to contemporary design. The two pieces also employ plaster, clay, and gesso skulls. Dark. But, very cool indeed.
