When the Cavaliers take the court for the first time next season, they’re probably going to look like a different team than they did when they took the court for the last time during the 2016-17 NBA season on Monday night. If we learned anything during the 2017 NBA Finals, it’s that the Cavaliers as currently constructed don’t have enough firepower to compete with Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, and the Warriors, so they’re going to have to make some changes to their roster this offseason if they want to challenge Golden State for an NBA title next season.

There are some Cavaliers fans who are calling for Cleveland to trade Kevin Love to the Pacers in exchange for Paul George. There are others who want to see the Cavaliers work out a deal with the Clippers for Blake Griffin. And then there are those who believe adding Carmelo Anthony to the mix could be the solution to Cleveland’s problems.

It seems J.R. Smith might fall into that last category. On Tuesday, Bleacher Report put out a photo featuring Carmelo in a Cavaliers jersey. That photo was later posted to Instagram by IG user @President_Dope:

And at some point, the photo came across J.R.’s IG feed, and he liked what he saw. So he double-tapped on the photo and "liked" the image of his former Knicks teammate suiting up for Cleveland:

Carmelo is still under contract with the Knicks through the 2018-19 NBA season, and he has a no-trade clause in his contract. That means he would need to approve a trade to the Cavaliers before it could happen. But if Carmelo does get moved this summer, Cleveland seems like it would be one of the potential destinations, given his history with LeBron James and the fact that he wants to win a ring before the end of his career. And it looks like he would be welcomed with open arms in Cleveland if the Cavaliers and Knicks were able to work out a trade.

Can you see it happening? Whatever the case, this is going to be a summer filled with trade rumors for the Cavaliers. Hold on tight.
