Cardale Jones walks off the field.

Earlier today, Buffalo Bills quarterback Cardale Jones posted a photo of himself on Instagram wearing a cap and gown after graduating from his alma mater, Ohio State University.

The image may come as a shock considering Jones once posted a tweet bashing the idea of football players going to college to get an education. Cardale used his mortarboard to reference the infamous tweet he put out back in 2012.

Five years later, Jones can poke a little fun at the situation. And Cardale wasn't the only one to find humor in his momentous day.

According to Dr. Saturday, Jones continued taking classes at Ohio State even after leaving school early after the 2015 season. The following year, Cardale was taken by the Bills with the 139th pick in the fourth round. As he fought to maintain a spot on Buffalo's depth chart, Jones also continued to pile on the credits. Today, Jones graduates from Ohio State with a bachelor’s degree in African American Studies.

Congratulations go out to Jones who continued to pursue an education even after reaching the NFL. Every athlete doesn't get this moment, so cherish it.
