Aaron Hernandez's attorney Jose Baez has toldTMZ Sports that the three notes found in the prison cell of the former New England Patriots tight end were meant for his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, his four-year-old daughter Avielle, and Baez. His lawyer will not reveal what Hernandez wrote to him.

Previous reports suggested that the third letter was intended for a "gay lover" at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts, but Hernandez's lawyer quickly denied that theory. "Rumors of letters to a gay lover, in or out of prison, are false," Baez toldTMZ Sports. "These are malicious leaks used to tarnish somebody who is dead." Those rumors turned into speculation that Hernandez's sexuality played a part in the 2013 murder of his friend Odin Lloyd.

According to Newsweek, Lloyd may have known about an "intimate relationship" involving Hernandez and a male former high school classmate. However, Aaron's former friend and co-defendant in the 2013 murder case Ernest Wallace reportedly told detectives that Lloyd was killed shortly after calling Hernandez a "schmoocher," which the former NFL player perceived as a gay slur.

Meanwhile, Lloyd's mother Ursula Ward may not receive a dime from the lawsuit filed against Hernandez’s estate prior to his death. A legal loophole known as "abatement" may lead to her case being thrown out since Hernandez's appeal was never fully completed. Ward's lawyer Douglas Sheff has issued a "very friendly challenge" to his former team, the Patriots, in an attempt to receive the $6 million that was owed to Hernandez before his conviction.
