Steph Curry Talks About the Time a Fan Sent His 5-Year-Old Son to Ask Riley on a Date

Steph Curry says he was thrown off after a fan sent his 5-year-old son to ask Riley Curry out on a date.

We would imagine that opposing players and fans have said all kinds of things to Steph Curry throughout the course of games to try and throw him off and distract him. But there was one fan who once managed to throw Curry off without saying anything at all.

Curry—who turned 29 on Tuesday—has been making the media rounds this week to promote some of the 4,652 products he currently endorses. And during an interview with The Crossover, he was asked to discuss the funniest thing a fan has ever said to frazzle him. It didn’t take Curry long to come up with an answer.

"Probably sending their 5-year-old to ask my daughter out on a date," he said. "Talk about throwing me off my game."

Yeah, we guess that would do the trick.

It’s unclear if Curry is talking about this specific incident or not since it involved a Warriors fan and not an opposing fan, but back in January 2016, a young boy held up a sign that said, "Riley, will you be my Valentine?" on it prior to a Warriors game against the Mavericks. The boy eventually got the chance to meet Curry and, well, let’s just say that Curry wouldn’t commit to letting his daughter have a Valentine at that time.

"I don’t know if the answer’s yes or no," Curry said, "but it’s good to meet you."

Ha. Bet Curry didn’t think he would be worrying about any of this before he even sent Riley off to kindergarten.
