Someone Is Sending Personalized Potatoes To a Bunch Of NBA Players

Someone is sending personalized potatoes to a handful of players around the NBA.

It’s a great time of year for basketball, isn’t it? The NCAA Tournament has just started. The NBA playoff hunt—and MVP battle—are in full swing.

What could possibly be a better way to celebrate this time in the game than to send a gift to some of the game’s best players? Perhaps…a potato?

That’s exactly what’s going on. Players around the NBA are receiving potatoes in the mail from someone. These aren’t just run-of-the-mill, everyday spuds, though—they’re personalized potatoes. Yes, this is a thing.

Those who’ve received a potato so far (that we know of): Dallas’ Dirk Nowitzki, Indiana’s C.J. Miles, Miami’s Hassan Whiteside, and Charlotte’s Frank Kaminsky.

As For The Win pointed out, this is probably tied to the company Potato Parcel, which appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank last year.

We have so many questions. For example: how are these players being chosen? How is the mysterious potato-giver finding their addresses? Who’s next? And, of course, will this venture expand to sweet potatoes?
