In early December, Lamar Odom decided to check himself into a rehab facility in San Diego, California just days after taping an episode of The Doctors and talking publicly about his near-fatal overdose for the first time. During an interview with Dr. Travis Stork on the show, he spoke about his battles with substance abuse and revealed that he was taking steps to try and maintain his sobriety.

TMZ later reported that Odom ultimately made the decision to check into rehab after visiting with a friend who is serving a 26-year prison sentence in Delaware. According to that report, the friend told Odom he needed to strongly consider taking back control of his life following all that he had been through both before and after his overdose.

Odom ended up spending about a month in rehab, and on Thursday, he checked himself out of the facility and made his first public appearance. TMZcaught up with him, and while his publicist wouldn’t let him speak much about what rehab was like, he did say that it had a positive impact on him.

"Awesome," he said. "Life-changing."

Odom was asked what he plans to do with his life next, and somewhat surprisingly, he revealed that he might go back to doing something that used to play a big part in his life. "I might do a reality show," he said.

And of course, he was asked about where his relationship with ex-wife Khloe Kardashian stands. Odom and Kardashian were officially divorced just days before he checked into rehab, but it sounds like they are still friendly. Odom mentioned that he hasn’t spoken to her lately, but he said he plans on checking in with the Kardashians soon. "I’ll speak to them," he said. "I’ll speak to my wife, my ex-wife. We’re cordial."

Odom is expected to sit down with Dr. Stork and The Doctors again sometime in the near future to talk more about rehab:
