For a while, all the news that was coming out about Lamar Odom was not great. He was put on life support after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel—that's pretty much a textbook example of hitting rock bottom. But then he decided to go to rehab after visiting a friend in prison, a decision which will hopefully turn things around for him permanently.

However, before he entered the facility, the former Clipper/Heat/Laker/Maverick/Clipper gave an interview to The Doctors where he opened up about his battle with addiction. "I wasn’t in a good place mentally, especially mentally before that incident [at the brothel] happened,” Odom said, in an interview that aired back in December. “Me and my wife at the time [Khloé Kardashian] were going through some things. I was in a dark place." The rest of the sitdown was then put on hold until he could complete rehab and do an interview in person.

Well, wouldn't you know it, Odom got out of rehab a little over a week ago and, because of that, he is able to talk about the ups and downs (mainly downs) that he's gone through over the past few years. He also talked about turning things around in rehab. As you likely figured out, you can watch a clip of it above. In the interview, Odom said he was ashamed of some of the "despicable" choices he had made, and said that the path he was on was akin to "committing suicide." But it's not all a total downer, as you end up getting a view of a man attempting to redeem himself by conquering his demons.

He also said that he "wants his wife back," and he vowed to repay her for being at his hospital bedside:

Guess we'll see how that plays out for them.
