ESPN commentators Adam Amin and Mack Brown are probably used to Uber drivers bombarding them with their opinions on college football on a weekly basis. When you work in the college football industry and travel the country calling games throughout the fall, it sort of just comes with the territory.

But the broadcasting team got a surprise from one driver when they hopped into the back of an Uber in San Antonio on Tuesday night. The driver asked the men what they thought about the University of Texas hiring former University of Houston head coach Tom Herman to be their new head coach. And at first, we suspect they thought the driver was asking because he recognized Brown, who spent 16 seasons coaching the Longhorns and won more than 200 games at Texas before he resigned in 2013. But as it turned out, the driver had no idea that Brown was in his car—and it made for a really awkward exchange between him and the ESPN employees.

Amin talked about the encounter with the Uber driver on Twitter:

Amin also revealed that he docked the driver four stars when leaving him an Uber rating later as a result of the derogatory comment he unknowingly made to Brown:

How awkward is that?
