Kevin Durant said earlier this year after he decided to sign with the Warriors that he's still got love for his former home of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Many believed that he was just giving Thunder fans and the OKC community some consolation after he decided to take his talents to Oakland. But now KD is really putting his money where his mouth is, donating $57,000 to a school for the homeless in OKC.

According to ESPN, Durant's charity foundation made the donation to the organization Positive Tomorrows. The grant will be allocated for buying land to build a school on its property. The Warriors superstar forward was an activist in the OKC community, and maintained close ties to the Positive Tomorrows organization.

KD holds a special place in his heart for unprivileged children because he used to be one. When Durant received the 2014 NBA MVP award and gave his famous "You the real MVP" speech to his mother, he detailed his family's long journey moving from apartment to apartment while he was growing up.

Durant makes his first trip back to Oklahoma City when the Warriors play against the Thunder Feb. 11th.
