Paul George's game against the Chicago Bulls ended prematurely on Saturday Night after the Pacers' star was ejected because he accidentally kicked the ball into the face of a fan. George's move came in the waning minutes of the third quarter with his team up 20, and was the result of him missing the basket stanchion from freaking point blank range. Immediately afterward, George attempted to make amends by hugging the fan, though she didn't seem to be all that upset about it.

The six-year veteran apologized after the game. "I meant to kick the ball against the mat, the stanchion, I guess," George said. "And my soccer skills isn't as good as I thought. I apologized to the people who I hit, and I'm glad my team was able to pick up this win and me not be at fault for the loss."

George says he expects a fine to result from the incident, and also added that the fan who was on the receiving end of his boot told him she was okay. When asked about it afterward, coach Nate McMillan said he hopes the accident doesn't lead to a suspension. "I hope not," McMillan said. "Emotions took over in that situation, and he knows that's something he can't do. That's an immediate ejection."

The Pacers ended up winning the game easily, by a score of 111-94. George ended with 13 points and seven rebounds. As for the ejection, it was the first time in his career that George got his butt booted from a game early.
