Good evening. I bring good news. The NBA regular season is finally almost here.

After four months without competitive NBA basketball, this is exciting. Exhilarating, even. But don't take it from me. Let Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook and Cleveland's Kyrie Irving get you fired up for the NBA season.

Irving narrates the struggle of being a championship contender, with 29 other teams out there vying for your crown; while Westbrook discusses how every team starts 0-0. Teams' 2015-16 records (which are beautifully illustrated in this video, by the way—props to the production team) are irrelevant.

We checked one new-season landmark off the list Thursday night, as TNT broadcast its first games of the season. The regular season tips off Tuesday, Oct. 25 (a week from this coming Tuesday), with an excellent slate of games.

The new-look Knicks, led by Derrick Rose, Kristaps Porzingis, and Carmelo Anthony, travel to Cleveland to play the defending champs at 8 p.m. Then we have Jazz-Blazers at 10 p.m., and the night wraps up with a doozy: Spurs at Warriors at 10:30 p.m.

This will be Kevin Durant's first regular season game with Golden State, and it will be at Oracle Arena, and the Spurs will still be reallygood, and this game will be amazing.

It's OK to get excited. Kyrie and Russell would want you to.
