It may only be the NBA preseason, but the oft-injured Anthony Davis is, unfortunately, already in mid-season form. During the first quarter of the Pelicans' exhibition game against the Rockets on Wednesday all the way on the other side of the world in Beijing, Davis suffered a Grade 2 right ankle sprain after he stepped on the foot of Rockets center Nene Hilario. The injury is expected to sideline him for 10 to 15 days.

AD should be ready to play at the beginning of the NBA regular season, but this feels like a bad omen for a guy who has dealt with a series of nagging injuries over the course of his short career. Since joining the league in 2012, the 23-year-old has been forced to deal with—*takes deep breath*—a stress reaction in his ankle, a sprained left shoulder, a left knee MCL sprain and bone bruise, a fracture in his left hand, a dislocated index finger, another sprained left shoulder, back spasms, a third shoulder sprain, and a torn labrum. AD either has the worst luck in the world or he is—gasp—injury prone, which is every NBA player's worst nightmare. Regardless, his latest injury has left many NBA fans in complete disbelief:

You have to feel for this dude. Let's hope this is the only serious setback he's forced to deal with this season.
