Manu Ginobili took a serious shot to the balls last year. Ginobili was kneed in the groin in a mid-season game against the New Orleans Pelicans—Ryan Anderson was the accidental culprit—and the Spurs' 14-year veteran missed almost all of February after having a consequential testicular surgery. Poor guy.
At least now Ginobili can look back and laugh about it. News 4 San Antonio asked Ginobili if he had ever heard the expression "I'd give my left..." Ginobili laughed and responded, "I'd give my right one."
"I'd give it all," Ginobili said. "I'd give my right one for the Spurs. I can say it. I can really say it. It's true."
Exclusive with Manu: he would only share this with our @DonHarris4 - full interview tomorrow on Sports Sunday. pic.twitter.com/AMijTJq8Fy
Ginobili has played for the Spurs since he entered the NBA from Argentina in 2002. Since then, he has won four NBA championships, made the All-Star team twice, and won Sixth Man of the Year once.
He has also been a part of one of the most legendary and long-standing cores in NBA history, teaming up with coach Gregg Popovich, the recently retired Tim Duncan, and Tony Parker.
There's no question he owes much of his success to the San Antonio organization, and we knew Ginobili was a loyal guy, but this is even more dedication than we expected. Shout out to you, Manu.
