After seeing their team finish with a 4-12 record last season, Dallas Cowboys fans are incredibly optimistic, thanks to a 3-1 start to the 2016 campaign. Forget the fact that these victories came against teams who are combined 4-9, but we digress.

Last year was a concerning time for the Cowboys. Their fans were getting a glimpse at what life after 36-year-old Tony Romo would look like, and no one liked the sight of a quarterback carousel featuring Matt Cassel, Brandon Weeden, and Kellen Moore. The outlook wasn't much better in the backfield. While Darren McFadden filled in nicely after troubled running back Joseph Randle forced the organization to part ways with him, there was always a lingering concern about Run DMC's ability to stay healthy for an entire season.

Since then, Dak Prescott has emerged as a strong candidate to become the franchise's next cornerstone quarterback. Four games in, Ezekiel Elliott has lived up to the lofty expectations that come with a running back taken in the first round of an NFL Draft. In his last two games, Elliott has rushed for 278 yards on 53 carries, averaging 5.25 yards per carry.

Now, just because Prescott and Elliott have looked like promising assets for the Cowboys for years to come that doesn't mean anyone should get a tattoo of them on their body. Actually, nevermind, too late!
