One week after earthquakes in Italy took the lives of almost 300 people, a group of Champions League legends and F1 drivers took part in a fantasy game of 5-a-side football to raise money for those who had been affected.
The team of Dida, Robert Pires, David Trezeguet, Michel Salgado and Christian Karembeu lined up against the F1 All Stars: Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen and Joylon Palmer on the starting grid of Monza, days before the start of the Italian Grand Prix.
The '2016 Heineken Champions of the Grid' match was full of goals – with €1,000 being donated to charity for each time the ball hit the net – and ended with the Champions League legends winning by a margin of 22-10.
David Trezeguet and Robert Pires rolled back the years.
The match was organised as part of the activity for the 2016 Italian Grand Prix, which is the first Formula 1 race that sees Heineken as a title sponsor.
The 'Legends' team had six Champions League winners' medals between them.
It looks like class really is permanent.
