We live in a gotcha society where we frequently ask public figures questions about current events and then drag them if their views don't line up entirely with ours. A lot of the time the questions are unrelated to the field of expertise for said public figure, and it often serves to put them into a shit-storm that they then have to wait out.

Last month that scenario played out for Cam Newton after the 2015 NFL MVP had the following exchange with an interviewer fromGQ:

GQ: Do you feel like football fans are racist toward you?

As it turns out, Newton is said to have been recently advised by GOP pollster/noted scumbag Frank Luntz, a man who's made a vast fortune on his expertise of toying with language to manipulate people. Some of Luntz's greatest achievements of true dicketry include getting the estate tax reworded into the "death tax" and global warming reworded into "climate change."

According to Sports Illustrated, who were relying on people close to Newton, Luntz has been called in by an unknown person (or people) to help Newton frame discussions on race. And, while it's unknown whether or not this alleged hire occurred before Newton's GQ interview, it's still worth noting as the Panthers' signal caller is undoubtedly peppered with similar questions for the foreseeable future.
