Josh Gordon’s name is in the news yet again for all the wrong reasons. The Browns wide receiver—who is currently serving a four-game suspension after missing the entire 2015-16 NFL season due to an indefinite suspension stemming from legal issues—has reportedly failed to respond to multiple subpoenas that have been sent to him in a child paternity case. As a result, an arrest warrant has been issued for him.

According to Cleveland.com, a complaint with regards to the paternity case was first filed against Gordon back in July 2015. An Ohio woman claims Gordon is the father of her now 1-year-old daughter and wants him to take a DNA test to prove it. However, Gordon did not respond to subpoenas sent to his known addresses in Los Angeles and Cleveland, and he also reportedly ignored a court order to deliver a DNA sample. So a judge in Cleveland decided to issue a warrant in late August and have Gordon arrested. In a statement to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Browns said they're aware of the matter and that Josh and his lawyer are working with the court to resolve the matter.

According to court records obtained by Cleveland.com, the Browns, the NFL, adidas, and agent Drew Rosenhaus were also served with subpoenas stemming from the paternity case, but it’s unclear how they handled them. At this time, Gordon has not spoken publicly about the paternity case, and he is technically prohibited from speaking with the media during his NFL suspension so it’s unlikely that he’ll talk about his legal situation in the coming days. But this is yet another issue that he’s going to need to deal with before he gets back to playing football in October when his suspension ends.
