If you believe everything you read on the internet, then you probably think that all U.S. military members, both past and present, are angry at Colin Kaepernick for refusing to stand during the national anthem prior to a Packers/49ers preseason game last Friday night. Those who are opposed to what Kaepernick did have cited his lack of respect for the military as one of their main points of contention. But as it turns out, not all U.S. veterans are upset with Kaepernick at the moment.

There probably are plenty of veterans out there who are angry with what Kaepernick did, but there are also lots and lots and lots of veterans who have absolutely no problem with it. We know this because, on Tuesday night, the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick exploded on social media with many veterans voicing their support for Kaepernick. #VeteransForKaepernick spent quite a bit of time at the top of Twitter’s U.S. Trends list on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, and it was one of the better uses of the social media site that we've seen.

You can check out a bunch of the #VeteransForKaepernick tweets that have gone up below. Regardless of what you think about Kaepernick’s decision not to stand for The Star-Spangled Banner, it’s now clear that many military members didn’t have a huge problem with it.
