Manchester United have opened talks with Juventus over a world-record breaking transfer for Paul Pogba.

Sky Sports reports that Jose Mourinho is bidding to make Paul Pogba his major signing of the summer at Old Trafford and the club are preparing to submit a £100 million bid to sign the French superstar.

The news is a major development in a transfer that's been rumoured for months – if not years – by journalists and fans.

According to the report, United chief executive Ed Woodward has begun negotiations to bring Pogba back to the Premier League in a deal that would see the midfielder earn up to £300,000 per week.

The 23-year-old is also rumoured to be targeted by Real Madrid but United have made a head start – and in an interview with Complex ahead of Euro 2016 – Pogba didn't hide his fondness for Manchester United, a club he originally left in 2012:

"I really miss Manchester because it’s where I made the most of my teenage years and I had lots of friends there. It’s a different culture, I found they’re more open than French people. I was in digs with a family and they treated me like their son."

Let's see what happens next.
