Lamar Odom has been making headlines for his post-recovery behavior recently, which includes being photographed buying drinks at a California bar and getting kicked off a plane before it could take-off due to excessive vomiting.

Well, as it turns out, his friends and family have noticed too, which is why they reportedly held a surprise intervention for the two-time NBA champ this past Friday night, Us Weekly reports. In attendance were his kids, several of his cousins, his aunt, and his non-Kardashian ex-wife, Liza Morales.

On top of that, one of Odom's many cousins that participated also reached out to another ex-athlete with addiction issues, Darryl Strawberry, who was present at the intervention by way of a video chat. Strawberry was there (in Skype form) in a reported attempt to convince Odom to hop on a plane and begin a rehab program at St. Cloud, Florida's Darryl Strawberry Recovery Center.

Odom reportedly left the event and was said to be "extremely surprised" by the incident. If there's any silver lining to be had here it's that "family sources" told Extra that they're committed to getting him the professional help he needs. However, a family "insider" also told Us Weekly just a few weeks ago that Odom "[w]as doing so well in his [rehab] programs."

The retired 15-year NBA vet was hospitalized and nearly died after overdosing at a Nevada brothel this past October.
