Derrick Rose claims people are calling the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors "super teams" in the NBA

The next NBA season is still months away, but new Knicks point guard Derrick Rose is already heating things up off the court. In a new interview with NBA.com's Lang Whitaker, Rose talked about the upcoming Knicks season, and during the conversation, he made some interesting comments about what he's hearing about his new squad and the expectations. "They’re high," Rose said. "I mean, with these teams right now, they’re saying us and Golden State are the super teams, and they’re trying not to build that many super teams, and Adam Silver came out with the statement and this and that."

So yeah, Derrick Rose is apparently hearing chatter around the league that the Knicks, with the additions of him and Joakim Noah, are in line to be a super team. Of course, during a press conference earlier this month, NBA commissioner Adam Silver did speak on why he doesn't think two super teams are good for the NBA, but he was obviously talking about the Warriors and the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers. Not the New York Knicks like Derrick Rose seems to think. While you can't really hate on Rose's optimism going into a new team, it's hard to think that the Knicks will be a true contender in the East this year, let alone an NBA super team.

That isn't to say that things aren't looking up in New York City, as the Knicks still have Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, who is coming off a very solid rookie season. But still, having not even played a game for the Knicks yet, it's probably sound advice for D-Rose to let things play out during the season before making any crazy declarations.
