After George broke his leg during Team USA's scrimmage, many people weren't sure if he would ever be the same player, let alone play in an NBA game. But, with hard work and perseverance, PG-13 returned after just eight months out of action. It didn't take long for the Indiana Pacers star forward to exude the same confidence he once had before the injury, but he was also backing it up with his play. George was selected to his third All-Star Game this past season and missed just one game during the year. He even posted a career-high in points per game with 23.1 and tied his career-best in assists per game with 4.1.

The NBA 2K17 cover is a well-deserved honor for a player like George who not only fought to get himself back to the player he was, but has also improved his game and assumed his role as the Pacers' leader. In the first round of this year's playoffs, Indiana was eliminated by the Toronto Raptors, but there were moments where PG-13 was single-handedly keeping his team in games. Once again, the sky is the limit for George.
