Among all of the crazy things Johnny Manziel has done in 2016 alone, remember that L.A. rental home he partied in and ran amock with his friends? Well, Manziel has been hit with a lawsuit from the owner of that Los Angeles rental home. He allegedly caused "extensive damage" during parties the former Browns quarterback held at a Los Angeles home he rented earlier this month.
The house is owned by Nicholas Goodwin of The Goodwin Group, Inc., which owns LA Exotic Life, a private rental company specializing in "exotic villas, jets, and vehicles," according to its website. Goodwin claims in his lawsuit that Manziel used the alias "Travis" to conceal his identity, and the two discussed rental options for the 5000-square foot property, which he stayed in April 4 to April 6. Goodwin says "Manziel wanted to rent the place for two nights—and said he'd keep things low key, even agreeing to pay a huge fine if more than 15 people came to the house at one time." Manziel apparently agreed that he would pay Goodwin an additional $5000 if that amount of people were on the property.
He also stated in a letter to ESPN, via his attorney Niki Ghazian, that "evidence suggests that Mr. Manziel and his guests were consuming drugs and alcohol on the property." Los Angeles police had also arrived at the property to answer noise complaints on April 6. Goodwin also told the New York Post that he arrived two hours after the scheduled check out time only to find his property—and Manziel— destroyed. “Manziel was passed out," Goodwin stated. "There was cocaine all over the kitchen table, and mushrooms were still out on the table in front of him. There was booze everywhere ... broken glasses over the floor and a Champagne glass in a tree.”
Ghazian sent Manziel's lawyer a letter is demanding $31,580, which includes $19,580 in damage and replacement fees. Goodwin is also seeking $10,000 in rental fees and $2,000 in attorney's fees from Manziel.
