The public has a weird obsession with Steph Curry but, frankly, that's par for the course when it comes to big-time athletes in their prime.

That being said, the public has a really weird, possibly unprecedented, obsession with Curry's family, which includes strangers fawning every time his toddler daughter acts like a toddler, strangers freaking out anytime his wife tweets anything, strangers bugging his sister for absolutely no reason, and strangers thirsting for his mom.

Somehow, Steph's dad Dell Curry, an ex-NBA player in his own right, has managed to stay above the fray for the most part. But after Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night, the older Curry went viral when some fan douche left him hanging on a high-five while someone else filmed it. Afterwards, the guy even hit Dell with a dab, even though the dab is supposed to be dead.

Check out the awkward exchange in the three-second clip below, which we will admit perfectly captures a reaction from Dell that hovers somewhere between exasperation and utter contempt:

Despite the fact that his son's team just lost Game 7 by a score of 93-89, Dell was still cool enough to offer up a handshake to some nobody. But he then learned a lesson most of us were introduced to in middle school.

This is why you can't be nice to anyone.

Next time you hit up a famous person for an autograph or try to get them to pause what they're doing to take a selfie with you and they respond with some variation of "eff off," just think about the Vine above and you'll understand exactly where they're coming from.
