In the least surprising news of the NBA season, ESPN's Mark Stein is reporting that Steph Curry will win the NBA MVP award for the second straight year. The announcement will reportedly be made later this week, with speculation that the 28-year-old Warriors star could become the first unanimous MVP selection in NBA history.

Curry, an "on fire" NBA Jam player come to life, led the association in points and steals per game this season, joining Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson as the only other NBA players to ever do so.

Curry also joined the prestigious 50/40/90 club by knocking down over half his field goals, 45 percent of his threes, and 90-plus percent of his free throws. His final regular season averages were 30.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. This was all despite the fact that he averaged less than 35 minutes per night. Oh, and if that weren't enough, he also nailed 402 three-pointers, obliterating the old three-point record (which, by the way, was already his) by 116.

If you want to look at team accomplishments, Curry's squad also won 73 games, breaking a record that we never thought would be broken. The old record was set by that team that won 72.

Now you know the news you were already pretty sure you knew back in, like, January. When it becomes official, try to act surprised. In the meantime read up on this list so you can impress people at the water cooler/on the playground/while loitering in front of a convenience store with some facts about the MVP that they may not know.
