The search for the next New York Knicks head coach continues. Apparently, team owner James Dolan understandably isn't really feeling Kurt Rambis, the alleged top choice of team president Phil Jackson.

According to NY Daily News reporter Frank Isola, Jackson recently met face-to-face with recently fired Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel about the job.

"The clandestine meeting, which is believed to have taken place in Los Angeles, also included Knicks general manager Steve Mills, according to a team source. Kurt Rambis, David Blatt and Vogel are the top-three candidates for one of more coveted NBA jobs. Jackson’s meeting with Vogel also raises further questions to whether Garden Chairman James Dolan is opposed to signing off on Jackson’s preferred choice, Rambis.

After the Pacers announced that Vogel's contract would not be renewed following their Game 7 loss to the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs, Knicks general manager Steve Mills reached out to Vogel's agent. Vogel is also being considered by the Memphis Grizzlies, Orlando Magic, and Houston Rockets for their head coaching vacancies.

Vogel has been heralded for his ability to develop young talent and team chemistry. He spent six seasons in Indiana, where he went 281-211 overall. Fans continue to question Jackson's ability to find the right coach after he failed to bring in big names like Tom Thibodeau, Scott Brooks, and Luke Walton. Those coaches are all unavailable now after finding jobs with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Washington Wizards, and Los Angeles Lakers, respectively. Jackson is still looking for a coach who is willing to run his Triangle Offense. The former Lakers and Chicago Bulls legend reportedly even held a two-day triangle seminar for almost 10 players just one week after the end of their season.
