At this point in his career, Klay Thompson has taken part in thousands of basketball games. So it’s probably safe to say that his dad Mychal Thompson—a former NBA player who won two titles—has learned how to deal with the nerves that come along with watching his son play in a big game. Or has he?

You would think that would be the case, but according to Thompson, he really struggled to watch the Warriors and Thunder play Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals on Monday night. He was just too nervous to do it. He actually struggled so much that he had to go ahead and change the channel before the game started. Instead of watching the deciding game in the series, Mychal—who talked about Game 7 on his ESPN Radio show on Tuesday—revealed that he watched WWE Raw:

If you’ve ever watched your kid take part in an athletic competition of any kind at any level of sports, you can probably relate to what Mychal went through during Game 7. But if he really didn’t watch the game, he missed one hell of a performance from his son. Klay started off cold from the field, but he eventually warmed up and finished with 21 points and hit six of the 11 three-pointers he took during the game. And more importantly, the Warriors won, which Mychal was thrilled to hear once the news got back to him. He said he felt like the Golden State owner when he heard the Warriors had defeated the Thunder:

Question now is: If Mychal couldn't make it through Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, what's he going to do if the NBA Finals go to a Game 7?
