You know things have gotten bad when Lawrence Taylor, a man who once arrived to a team meeting in handcuffs, and also had sex with an underage prostitute, is giving you advice. But that's exactly what happened today when old No. 56 imparted some wisdom on Johnny Manziel, which seems at least somewhat appropriate on the day Johnny Football was officially indicted for misdemeanor assault of his ex-girlfriend.
Taylor briefed Johnny on the era he's playing in, telling TMZ that media looming everywhere has changed everything (note the irony in telling TMZ that) and saying, "It's not the 1980s. It's not the early 1990s. You cannot do what you want to do in the NFL anymore."
He also added, "With social media and all that stuff man, listen...Man, back in our day, if you didn't hear it on Monday, motherfucker, you free! You free!"
He concluded his pro bono guidance with some sound wisdomdecent advice words.
"Listen, at the end of the day, you do what you gotta do to make what you gotta make to do what you wanna do," he said. "So listen, after that fuck it."
