Tragedy has struck an amateur football match in Argentina.

48-year-old Cesar Flores was shockingly shot dead during a game in the city of Cordoba by a player he had shown a red card to just minutes earlier. The shooter also took aim at an opposing player, Walter Zarate, who survived the attack.

The attacker reportedly ran back onto the pitch with a gun in his hand moments after being sent off. He shot the referee three times in the head, neck and chest 20 minutes into the game. The gunman was apparently sent off for flooring an opposing player

As quote by Mail Online, a police spokesperson said:

"It all happened during the match. We don't know what happened with the referee but the player was angry and went to get his gun and killed him."

Crazy business.
