You knew this was coming.

Brent Grimes apologized to Ryan Tannehill after incendiary tweets from his wife, Miko, made headlines following the Dolphins loss to the Colts last weekend.

The Miami Herald reported that Grimes and Tannehill cleared the air and are putting the episode behind them. Grimes, meanwhile, tried his best to distance himself from his wife's tweets.

"I've said this plenty of times: My wife is my wife," Grimes said. "She talks. We don't speak the same things. That’s her. ... My wife’s opinions are her opinions. They're not my opinions. I really don’t understand why you ask me about my wife’s opinions. It's not mine."

Tannehill, who continues to battle criticism that he isn't a franchise quarterback, said it's "business as usual" as the Dolphins prepare for their season finale against the Patriots Sunday at Sun Life Stadium.

"Honestly, at this point, I've heard what she said and I really don't want to give it the time of day," Tannehill said. "It doesn't affect what I think about myself, the way I go about by business and prepare to win games. The saddest part about this whole thing is we have to answer questions about it and it's becoming a distraction and this organization and this team. Other than that, it's just business as usual. Nothing's changed for me."

Grimes said he fully supports Tannehill as the Dolphins quarterback.

"He's our quarterback. He's a quarterback. He make plays. That’s what he has to do. That’s the guy we go out with every Sunday. That’s my guy and that’s my teammate."

The Dolphins, who some picked to be a playoff team this year, enter Sunday with a 5-10 record and haven't had a winning season since 2008.
