There's a lot of turnover when it comes to head coaching positions in college football this year. Some of that is due to incompetence, some to head coaches moving on to take better jobs, and then there's the case of Missouri where the former head coach, Gary Pinkel, is resigning due to health issues. Pinkel's replacement was named tonight and it's none other than the Tigers' defensive coordinator Barry Odom. Odom, only 39-years-old, previously played linebacker for Mizzou from 1996 to 1999. Afterwards he coached high school football for three years before returning to his alma mater as a grad assistant. In 2012, he became the defensive coordinator for Memphis before returning to fill the same position for Missouri this season. During his sole season running the Missouri 'D' Odom led his squad to the first top-10 defense in school history.

Currently the Tigers won't play again until next fall as they finished the year 5-7 and declined an offer to participate in a bowl.
