When Aaron Hernandez was first arrested and accused of murdering his friend Odin Lloyd back in 2013, he didn’t have a tattoo on his neck. That appeared to change sometime earlier this year when he made an appearance in court and showed off a new neck tattoo that included the word “LIFETIME” in it. And now, it looks like he has finished that tattoo, which appears to be gang-related.

The former Patriots tight end was in court on Tuesday for a pre-trial appearance tied to his upcoming double-murder case. And during it, he wore a plain white T-shirt as opposed to a suit, which allowed for him to show off the artwork on his neck:

The tattoo is believed to be Hernandez’s pledge of allegiance to the Bloods gang. It includes a five-point star and the words “LIFETIME” and “LOYALTY.” You can see a blown-up image of it here:

Remember when police said they were going to examine Hernandez’s tattoos to see if he had any gang ties even though he denied having any gang affiliations? Yeah, they were probably on to something there.
