Rams Wide Receiver Stedman Bailey Reportedly Shot in the Head in Miami

Rams third-year wide receiver Stedman Bailey was reportedly shot in the head Tuesday night in Miami:

According to NFL.com's Michael Silver, the wounds Bailey sustained are not life-threatening:

A Rams source confirmed to me that Stedman Bailey was involved in shooting incident & suffered a head wound. Not considered life-threatening

Source said Bailey will undergo surgery in the morning. Again, head wound not believed to be life-threatening. Rams gathering more info

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Bailey was sitting in a car with three relatives when someone pulled up next to them and opened fire:

#Rams WR Stedman Bailey was shot twice in the head while sitting in a car with 2 young relatives & his cousin. He is stable in a Miami ICU

Bailey's cousin reportedly shielded the children in the car during the attack and was also shot several times. His wounds are considered life-threatening:

The Rams have released this statement:

“We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.”
